It searches to find gears and has never been beat on.

The shifting solenoids are starting to go, which means the tyranny will eventually go. Well, my vehicle has been maintained and up kept since day one, and before that my mother. Not sure if that's true or not but still frustrating to have so many issues with a car that's not that old.

Only when the check engine light came on, would they even acknowledge that there was an issue and even then tried to say it was just the solenoid as no codes were coming up for the transmission issue that had been going on for years! I've been told Ford knows about the transmission issue and has the code cleared out with their software so it never shows when taken in for service. No codes ever populated so was told everything was as it should be. Had repair completed in August 2019 after dealing with the issues for nearly a year and being told that was just the way the car drove because of the turbo charged engine. Spent just under $4,000 to have both repairs done. Vehicle still shifted very hard, like it was missing a gear, advised by dealership to have transmission rebuilt. Dealership had to replace coolant bypass solenoid, said it was recalled on vehicles like mine but my VIN didn't show a recall even though the engine, year, make, model, build date, build location were all identical to the recall. This went on for a while before the check engine light came one.

I have proof of all the forums I could find too of the same issues I am having.Ĭar stalling, cutting out, missing a gear and shifting very hard, while driving. It'll save everyone time, effort, and money. I really hope you consider investigating and getting these cars recalled. They sincerely need recalled andnobody should have to pay for something that should've been dealt with before being sent out to the world. It is a very serious ongoing issue with not just my car but others and the part is $200 each time it needs replaced and it is literally never the hoses it's the solenoid giving too much boost over 4psi which is absolutely ridiculous these cars need recalled the wastegate isn't compatible to keep up with the turbocharge itself in the car and if not fixed then people have to replace the turbo itself or buy a new engine or replace head gaskets and it could cause a serious wreck if someone is driving going 70mph on a highway and then boom your car died all because of a solenoid that doesn't work for the 2013 Ford Escape because Ford doesn't want to deal with the fact these cars are not road material and they are not safe for anyone to drive. Other people used their power train warranties to have it fixed just to have to pay out of pocket for another one. This issue should've been resolved by Ford making it so the wastegate can keep up with the turbocharge in the Ford Escape 1. And for the past 6 months I have been getting a code p0234 which was read at a local auto zone which reads wastegate solenoid this is happening to me and many many other people around the world the solenoid itself keeps going bad and causing issues such as acceleration problems, losing power and dying down while driving even on an interstate and highways and sometimes it'll do it 2 or 3 times in a row before finally running and getting me where I need to go such as work or my child's school or doctor appointments or to the store.
